Welcome to my author’s website! I’m 3/4 of the way through writing my first novel and am preparing for my first writer’s convention coming up in just a few days! I’ve written a number of scripts, monologues and even press releases in my former career, but I’ve now focused all of my attention on finally giving life to the characters I’ve created over the years and sharing their stories!
The first story is Essie’s. She’s fierce, confident, and a bit of a ball-buster. She’s a sweet mix of genuine heart and fiery sass. Her story begins ten years ago at the birth of social media, when most of the world didn’t fully understand yet how our culture would evolve. But online predators saw their chance to hide behind computer screens and reach vulnerable young girls from the safety of their anonymous profiles. Essie’s sister almost became a victim, and it was pure luck that her story didn’t end in tragedy. But Essie couldn’t just stand back and do nothing. So she began volunteering for Force Defense & Security at the young age of 18 — old enough to consent, but young enough to look under-age and naive. She was the perfect bait.
Fast forward a decade and she’s dealing with her own personal tragedy that’s forced her to step away from a career chasing down bad guys. But one of the monsters she put away is out of prison… and out for revenge. Essie will have no choice but to return to the team and hunt down this sociopath again. She’ll have to walk the line between control and chaos, between vulnerable and confident. And perhaps, with a little help from her assigned body guard, between heartache and hope.
I can’t wait for you to meet Essie and the Force Defense team that surrounds her with their love, wit and charm! Their individual stories will be told soon, too! So check back as I’ll be updating this page frequently! In the meantime, please feel free to reach out or follow me on Twitter @ashbell_writer!
